Programmes

Education

Through its Education pillar, ARTEMIS is dedicated to supporting students from Greece in accessing world-class undergraduate education in the United Kingdom.

ARTEMIS’ programmes promote academic excellence and work to remove the financial and structural barriers that often stand between talented students and top-ranking universities. Improving access to higher education is a core priority, with the aim of expanding both the availability and quality of learning opportunities. ARTEMIS seeks to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive as active citizens and future leaders—in Greece and beyond.

Access to Higher Education

Acknowledging the significant financial barriers that may prevent students from pursuing undergraduate higher education in the UK, ARTEMIS offers a bursary programme to cover the costs of exams and application fees required for applications to top UK universities. By alleviating these financial burdens, the programme enables students to pursue their academic aspirations without the constraint of high application costs.

Scholarships

ARTEMIS implements a scholarship programme for students from Greece wishing to pursue Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London. The programme provides up to two scholarships per year covering up to full tuition fees for the duration of their studies. Candidates are selected based on academic excellence and a range of socioeconomic criteria including but not limited to location, income and family status.

Society

ARTEMIS collaborates with selected partners to ensure that vulnerable populations affected by poverty have access to essential goods and services. Actively working to identify ways to improve their living conditions, ARTEMIS is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of these communities by ensuring access to basic necessities, including food, shelter, and medical care.

Through strategic partnerships, ARTEMIS develops programmes aimed at providing relief and addressing food insecurity across Greece in a sustainable and effective manner. These initiatives go beyond basic food provision by tackling two critical challenges: first, ensuring access to high-quality nutrition to minimise food insecurity and improve overall health, and second, addressing the growing concern of food waste, which has significant implications for both food security and the environment in Greece.

Food aid

ARTEMIS supports food aid programmes in Athens, providing vulnerable individuals and families with regular access to nutritious meals. Through ARTEMIS’ support of the Agia Zoni Church in Kypseli and the Agios Loukas Church in Patisia – two of Athens’ most diverse and densely populated areas – approximately 200 individuals, including many children, families and elderly people, benefit daily from these initiatives.

As a result of ARTEMIS’ involvement, these food aid programmes have introduced healthier, nutrient-rich meal options, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of their communities. Additionally, by ensuring a stable monthly supply of food items, ARTEMIS has enabled these programmes to expand their focus to address other critical needs such as medical care, shelter, and social services.
